This is so lovely to hear, Tom. I’m grateful this connected with what you have already been reflecting on. Blessings on your journey….

Thanks for your messages.

I have had a couple unexpected journeys this past year, and was so enriched by focusing on them as they had far fewer guideposts along the way than I did. Thank you for re-posting this, especially for the poem at the end. I have had a series of very moving and important conversations with Jesus along the way, and more than once was struck with the irony that Jesus was the end point of their journey, and yet he accompanied me on mine. Thank you for all you do!

My prayer as well Ruth. Lord, show me and give me wisdom to see all people and circumstances with Kingdom eyes.

Thank you, Paula. There is no better encouragement than knowing that you feel nudged to sit with this and listen to what God has to say deep in your heart. I think this kind of contemplation is exactly what the season of Epiphany calls us to!

A dear friend of mine just lost everything in the Marshall Fire here in CO. The part of this message entitled “Through Many Dangers, Toils and Snares” really captured my attention…it’s as if you were sitting in our discussion that we had last night!! And the beautiful poem by Kate Compston is the icing on the cake. There is so much to reflect on in this post and I can feel God nudging me to sit with this, to listen with my heart, to recognize that NO MATTER WHAT, He is the great I AM, forever and ever. I can feel His holy invitation beckoning me and even though the journey be perilous at times, unsettling, or unfamiliar, He is Who He says He is and when all else fails, I can count on that. Grateful to be on the journey with you, Ruth…..

Ha! You are one wise mom! I am glad this landed for you at the right moment and pray God’s blessing on your daughters as they read this.

Good to hear from you, Wayne, and thank you for sharing moments from your own risky journey! Wow…the church has come a long way since the question, “Do any of the boys have long hair?” AND we have a long way to go! May we continue to be led by the mystery of God.

My take away on this Epiphany and 1/6, is that “truth is truth.” However,we are not all attuned to it, nor open to it. It takes a brave and wise person to receive it, and then follow it wholeheartedly. May we all embrace the truth and live in it regardless of the costs.

I was thrown, then remembered my own winding to journey that has led me all the way to full-time ministry (and yoga teacher training which honors the mystic in me!). I just shared this with them which I know will be of greater encouragement and insight than “mom” can give. Thank you!!!!!!
