I’ve been waiting for over a year after leaving my pastoral position; waiting 10 months for the septic to be put in, now waiting for the sale of our house, waiting on our move, waiting, for the new partnership to gell. I got invited to preach this Sunday, the beginning of Advent, and my wife says, “I’ve been reading about Elizabeth and waiting. You should consider preaching on, ‘wait for it,’ “Waiting.” Isaiah 40:31 comes to mind, “Those who wait upon the Lord shall …” Life is more than the clique, “A waiting game.” Waiting is ironically a ‘vehicle’ for building our trust in the One who says repeatedly, ‘You can trust me.”
